Support we offer

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your child as you join our school community. We endeavour to provide the highest level of support possible for your child and also for you, their family.

Your child’s wellbeing is of paramount importance to us and we take a whole school approach to our delivery of exceptional pastoral care, creating a safe environment and an ethos of happiness and confidence that culminates in better engagement and the improved academic achievement of learners.

Central to good pastoral care is the excellent relationships between staff and students, made possible by small class sizes and a high level of nurture support. Our bespoke curriculum is designed to ensure that students receive a good standard of education and have opportunities to build resilience and develop their team building skills through trips and outward bounds activities. We take a holistic approach to pastoral care and consider not only the educational needs of our students but also their social, emotional and mental health.

During their time with us we will support your child by providing:

- A healthy breakfast and a mid-morning snack.

- A healthy home-made hot lunch (a packed lunch is provided on trip days)

- A regular weekly check-in with a dedicated key-worker

- A high level of staff/pupil ratio

- Delivery of bespoke interventions tailored to specific pupil needs

- Referrals to and liaison with outside agencies if required, i.e. school nurse, TIC, Info-Buzz, Youth Support Team

- Emotional support

- Support to successfully transition to a new mainstream school

In addition, we support families with:

- Termly parent/carer cafes

- Your child’s return to mainstream education via the Fair Access Panel or the Child in Care protocol, including transitional support and ongoing support for a four-month period once your child is attending their new school on a full-time basis
