Trip to Gloucester Cathedral

Primary visited Gloucester Cathedral as part of their ‘Mighty River Severn’ topic. The children were filled awe and wonder at the beauty of the building. They loved listening about the history of the building along with learning about the importance of the building to Christians over the centuries . The children started the tour down in the Crypt which was very exciting . They learnt what it would have been like to be a monk and dressed up in Monk’s habits. The also made lavender bags ,badges and angels . We ate our picnic in the quad with a wonderful fountain and listened to the bells. Finally the children spent some time enjoying the peace and stillness of the cathedral. It was an amazing trip .
