Raikes connects with nature

29th September 2020

During term one 2020, Key stage three pupils have had weekly trips with a theme of, ‘Connecting With Nature’. On 29th September they visited, Wildplace. The learning objective of this trip was, ‘Should we bring animals that have been lost from the United Kingdom’s habitat back?

The pupils stated that, “We should not bring back wolves into the wildness of the entire United Kingdom because wolves attack farm animals and humans”.

On the other hand, pupils felt that Brown bears should be reintroduced back into wild in the UK. Most importantly this would increase forests and help with our carbon footprint.

All the pupils felt strongly that large cats such as Cheetahs should not be kept in captivity, as people can download an animal programme; it is more important to see animals in their natural habitat.
