Mental Health Awareness Week May 2022

24th May 2022
Mental Health Awareness Week 9th – 13th May 2022

The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is loneliness and in recognition of this, we held a GFAPS Tea & Talk café event.

Parents and carers were invited to join us for a cuppa and cake, along with organisations that we work with in support of our students including Brendan’s Bridge and TMS Mentoring.

The whole school community worked well together to make bunting to decorate our Community Café as well as making cakes to sell to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. We had a veritable array of sweet treats on offer that students served to guests at tables. We received extremely complimentary feedback about the professionalism and friendliness of students.

Our Community Café is based at The Raikes Centre and is open every Wednesday between 2:30pm-3:30pm during term-time. We currently serve hot drinks and cake but plan to expand the menu to include soups, sandwiches, and toasties. We extend a warm welcome to you and your family and look forward to seeing you soon.
