Gloucestershire Live Press Release - GFAPS Hampers

21st April 2020

Gloucester and Forest Alternative Provision School has 3 sites, 2 in Gloucester and 1 in the Forest of Dean.

Our aim is to provide an education for pupils aged 5-16 who have been excluded from a mainstream school either permanently or on a fixed term basis.

The majority of students display an extensive range of social, emotional and mental health difficulties which manifest themselves in a variety of different ways.

During this pandemic, GFAPS has been following the guidance from the Department for Education who sets a clear expectation that we should remain open for those vulnerable children who have a social worker, a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan who cannot be safely supported at home and children of key workers.

75% of GFAPS students are eligible for Free School Meals and our dedicated and passionate staff have been delivering food hampers across Gloucestershire, enabling us to make welfare checks with these students and their families.

Thanks also goes to Sainsburys Plc and Over Farm Market for their kind donations of Easter Eggs
